Working on the renewal of the Teso landing facilities

Rijkswaterstaat is preparing, in consultation with TESO, the municipalities, the province, and other parties, for the construction of new landing facilities on Texel and in Den Helder. Rijkswaterstaat is responsible for these landing facilities, which consist of the traffic bridge, the lift towers, the floating piers (fuiken), and the staging area.

Recently, the focus has been on the question: where should the facilities be located, and what design would be most suitable for those locations? The current landing facilities date back to the 1960s and are in need of replacement. In recent years, Rijkswaterstaat has conducted extensive research into the best way to replace the landing facilities. This research takes into account factors such as costs, construction time, and the ship’s route.
The various options are discussed in detail with the partners.
